She's the bestselling author of Teatime for the Firefly and Flame Tree Road and she was raised in the tea gardens and jungles of remote Assam in the 1960s by two free-spirited tea planters. You just know she has stories to tell.
On June 2nd, Shona Patel will use her storytelling skills to bring us into the heart of her beloved Assam. We will hear much about the history of Assam tea, as well as the geography and culture of this endearing place.
As you sip the premium-grade Assam sampler that will be mailed to you ahead of this event, be prepared to be charmed. Shona will share with us historical photos from the personal collections of veteran tea planters in addition to rare archival photos on tea history, the colonial lifestyle, big-game hunting, and all that is uniquely Assam. Furthermore - as a real treat - Shona will regale us with her own family photos and an educational segment about Assam tea (manufacturing, plucking, grading, quality, etc.).
We are so pleased to offer this unique evening to our fellow tea lovers and hope you'll join us!
